Lace-up or Velcro?
Lace-up gives the most secure, customised wrist fit and is the choice for sparring and fight night, but you will need a partner or coach to tie them. Velcro (hook and loop) goes on and off in seconds, which makes it ideal for solo bag sessions and classes.
Which weight?
For sparring, most adults use 16oz and heavier boxers 18oz. For bag and pad work, 12oz to 14oz feels quicker. 6oz to 10oz suits juniors and lighter boxers.
