Care tips
  • Wear them in the gym only. Outdoor use wears the sole and kills the grip on canvas.
  • Loosen the laces fully before pulling them off so the collar keeps its shape.
  • Air-dry after every session, out of direct sun, and wipe the soles clean.

Boxing shoes buying guide

How to choose boxing shoes

Boxing shoes are built for one job: moving well on a canvas. Compared with trainers, they have a thin, flat sole so you can feel the floor, a grippy outsole for pushing off, and a higher collar that holds the ankle when you pivot and cut angles. If you train in the ring a few times a week, a proper pair of Nike Hyperko makes footwork feel quicker and more stable.

High-top, mid-top or low-top?

High-tops wrap the ankle and are the most common choice for sparring and competition, which is why boots like the Nike Hyperko are popular. Mid-tops give some ankle support with a bit more freedom. Low-tops are the lightest and suit boxers who already have strong, stable ankles. If you’re not sure, start with a high-top.

How should boxing shoes fit?

They should feel snug at the heel and midfoot, with no sliding when you pivot, and about a thumb’s width of space at the toes. Try them with the socks you train in. Use our size chart to match your foot length to US, UK and EU sizes, and go half a size up if you have wide feet.

Grip versus pivot

A good boxing sole balances grip, for driving off the back foot, with enough smoothness to turn on the ball of the foot without twisting your knee. Keep your boxing shoes for the gym only. Wearing them outside wears down the sole and picks up grit that makes them slippery on the canvas.

Why not just train in running shoes?

Running shoes have thick, soft heels designed for moving forward. In boxing you move sideways and pivot constantly, and a tall cushioned sole makes it easier to roll an ankle. Boxing shoes keep you low and connected to the floor.

Looking after your boxing shoes

Loosen the laces fully before taking them off, let them air-dry after every session, and wipe the soles clean so they keep their grip. Store them out of direct sun.

Boxing shoes FAQ

Boxing shoe questions, answered

Still unsure about size or fit? Message us your foot length and we’ll help.

Ask about sizing
What size boxing shoes should I buy?

Measure your foot length and match it to the size chart on this page. If you have wide feet or you are between sizes, go half a size up. You can also message us your foot length and we will recommend a size.

Do boxing shoes fit like normal trainers?

They are designed to fit closer than trainers, snug at the heel and midfoot with a little room at the toes, so your foot does not slide when you pivot.

Are high-top boxing shoes better?

High-tops give the most ankle support and are the usual choice for sparring and competition. Low and mid-tops are lighter and suit boxers with strong, stable ankles.

Can I wear boxing shoes outside?

It is best not to. Outdoor surfaces wear down the sole and grit makes it slippery on canvas. Keep them for the gym.

Do you ship boxing shoes to the USA, UK, Europe and Canada?

Yes. Orders ship tracked with DHL, FedEx or UPS within 1 to 3 business days, and shipping is free on orders over $250. Import duties or VAT may apply in some countries.

Can I return boxing shoes if they don’t fit?

Yes. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery.

Do I save if I buy gloves with my boxing shoes?

Yes. Add boxing gloves or a sparring set with your shoes and you automatically get an extra 10% off up to two of them at checkout.
