Description
Maroon is red with the shouting taken out. It is deep, rich and forgiving of scuffs, which makes this Winning Maroon glove a good choice for boxers who like red but find it too intense for everyday use.
Maroon or red?
Red is bright and traditional. Maroon is darker, more wine-like and more understated. See the Red if you want the classic corner color.
Practical details
- Weights: 6oz to 18oz
- Closure: Lace-Up or Velcro
- Fit: unisex adult
Care
Dark red hides wear better than bright red and fades more slowly. Wipe after sessions and air-dry the gloves open.

Winning Maroon Boxing Gloves FAQ
Is maroon the same as burgundy on these Winning gloves?
They are very close. Maroon here is a deep wine-red that many buyers also call burgundy. It is noticeably darker than classic corner red.
Do maroon gloves show wear less than bright red?
Yes. The darker shade hides bag marks and light scuffs, so the pair keeps a clean look for longer between wipe-downs.
What gear matches maroon boxing gloves?
Maroon pairs well with black, gold, cream and gray. It also matches the Maroon, Yellow & Orange Winning pair if you want a second, louder option.
Size & fit
Glove weight is about what you do with them, not just how big your hands are. Most adults train in 14oz and spar in 16oz.
| Weight | Best for |
|---|---|
| 8–10oz | Pads, speed work, lighter boxers |
| 12–14oz | Heavy bag and general training |
| 16oz | Adult sparring |
| 18oz | Sparring for heavier boxers |
Lace-up gives the tightest wrist support. Velcro is quicker to put on by yourself. Still unsure? Read our glove guides.
