A boxing set is three pieces doing three different jobs. Here is what each one does in this Cleto Reyes Classic Red set, so you know what you are buying.
The gloves: protection and punching
Red gloves in sizes 6oz to 18oz protect your hands and your sparring partner's face. Lower weights are quicker; higher weights add padding. 16oz is the standard sparring size.
The headguard: head protection
A matching red headguard reduces the impact of contact to the head during sparring and pad work, which is why gyms often require one for sparring sessions.
The groinguard: lower protection
A matching groinguard completes the set, protecting against low blows during sparring.
Why red?
Red is the red-corner color and the color most associated with Cleto Reyes. It fades faster than dark colors, so bag the kit between sessions.

Size & fit
Glove weight is about what you do with them, not just how big your hands are. Most adults train in 14oz and spar in 16oz.

- Wear hand wraps. They protect your hands and keep sweat out of the lining.
- Open the gloves and let them air-dry after every session. Don’t leave them zipped in your bag.
- Wipe the leather with a damp cloth. Keep them away from heaters and direct sun.
